May10 - May 30 2008 Practice Locations Monday 6pm location: CU South - South Boulder Road & US 36 Saturday 9am location: Ethel Harrold picnic area in Walker Ranch Open Space - Travel west on Flagstaff Rd. Approximately 7.6 miles up Flagstaff turn onto Pika Rd. Stay right at Cougar, make sharp right at Bison. Picnic area is ~1.2 miles from Flagstaff Rd. (No map available) Other locations Beaver Reservoir Map 1 Beaver Reservoir Map 2 Boulder Tech Center - Take Hwy 52 East of the Diagonal, take the first road to the north (Dry Creek), turn right onto East Dry Creek and look for the Sunrise Building. Park in the NE lot behind the building. Boulder Valley Ranch - To reach Boulder Valley Ranch, travel north through Boulder past the point where Broadway and Route 36 intersect. Continue approximately 1 mile to turn right on Longhorn Road. Drive about 1 mile to the trailhead parking lot on the right. Chautauqua Meadow - To reach Chautauqua, turn west onto Baseline Rd. from Broadway or Hwy. 36 in Boulder. Continue past 9th St. and turn left (South) into Chautauqua. Parking is on the right below the ranger cottage. Cragmoor Road (Shanahan Ridge) - In south Boulder. From Broadway and Table Mesa, travel west on Table Mesa to Lehigh and turn South (Left) If you pass Bear Creek Elementary School, turn around. Pass Mesa Elementary (on Right/West) and take next right (West) on Cragmoor. Travel West on Cragmoor until it dead ends and park along the South side of the road. Eldora - Take Canyon Blvd. (Hwy 119) West to Nederland. Turn left (South) at the Nederland roundabout. Continue South on Hwy 119 for one mile. Turn right on 130 and follow Eldora signs. (No map available) Flagstaff Map (5-Way/Realization point, Summit, Lost Gulch Overlook, Cathedral Park) Foothills Centennial Trailhead/Sunshine Canyon - Travel west on Mapleton Ave. From stop sign at 4th and Mapleton, continue west just under 1/2 a mile. The parking lot is paved on the south side of the road, just past the Mt. Sanitas parking on the north side of the road. The UTM is approx. 13 474976E 4429119N Front Range Trails - Travel west on Canyon Street (up Boulder Canyon towards Nederland). At milepost 36.8 turn left (South) onto Magnolia Rd. Drive approximately 8.5 miles on Magnolia Rd. Front Range Trails is on the west. Parking a short ways down the road. Mt Alto - Go to Gold Hill and the Switzerland Trail, proceed South 1/2 mile, go through train cut, heading east, parking lot on North side of road. If road is impassable, stop at Switzerland Trail. Myers Gulch (Walker Ranch) - Travel west on Baseline Rd. until Flagstaff Rd. (just west of Chautauqua). Continue approximately 7.4 miles up Flagstaff Road and turn into the Myers Gulch parking area on the right (west). Realization Point Trailhead - City of Boulder open space/Mountain Parks Trailhead map Red Rock Lake Trailhead (Brainard Lake) - From Boulder, take Boulder Canyon or Left Hand Canyon west to Brainard Lake Road (Peak to Peak (Hwy 72) mile marker 44.2. Red Rock Lake parking will be on the right before (East of) the fee station. Reynolds Ranch at Blue Dot Trail - From Boulder, head west on Canyon for 4.4 miles from the Justice Center (at 6th St.). Turn left on Magnolia Rd. and travel about 10.5 miles to a left curve in the road with space for parking next to a gate on the right side of the road. If you reach the Peak to Peak highway, you've gone too far by about 1 mile South Boulder Creek Trailhead at Walker Ranch - Travel west from Boulder up Flagstaff for about 7.7 miles. Teller Farms - To reach Teller Farms, turn east on Arapahoe from Broadway or 28th St. in Boulder. Continue past 75th St. and turn north at the open space trailhead sign before reaching 95th St. Follow the dirt road about 1/3rd mile to the trailhead. West Magnolia Road (Also known as Haul Road or Road 132 West) - Take Canyon west out of Boulder to Nederland. Stay on Hwy 119 through Nederland. Less than 2 miles south of Nederland, turn right onto West Magnolia Road (North of the Sundance cafe & lodge). Winiger Ridge - Take Boulder Canyon to Magnolia Road at mm 36.8. Take Magnolia Rd roughly 6 miles to County Road 68. Follow CR68 to the first parking lot. |
